The "Bicycle" began its journey several years ago, in this alley of Artemonas, next to church Panagia Konhi under the name of "Pentzoula".
The Beginning
The first patisserie named "Pentzoula" was one of the central cafes in Artemonas which started operating in the 1960s under new management. It was also famous for its classic baklava and kataifi pastries. In 2002, Giorgos Psaraftis took over the business with his wife Fotini and has maintained the character, quality and name of the traditional café/patisserie. A passionate pastry chef himself, he continued the story by creating delicious syrupy sweets, as well as traditional desserts and treats.
The New Location
Over the years, the need for further development has led to the relocation of the patisserie to a traditional Sifnian house about 50m further down the street, in the central alley of Artemonas.
The name
The name of the new patisserie was inspired by George's second great passion which is cycling!
Today
With the help of friends and professionals the premises were refurbished, in order to maintain the original features and rooms of the house and at the same time form a functional and modern business. As a result, a mix of fresh ideas and passion have shaped the well-known "Yellow Bicycle".

We enjoyed a delicious sweet mid-Oct when the place was only with a few people. Lovely decoration and the chef knows hos to prepare delicious sweets, better than what you can find in pastries in Paris!! Definitively recommended...

The parfait ice-cream is a staple in Greece and I have personally always avoided it. The one they (hand-)make at Kitrino Podilato is absolutely divine. As are their other ice-cream flavours. it's a very cozy place to sit (that everybody knows about, so be prepared to sometimes wait for a table or just get something to-go).

A beautiful, artistic, little cafe, very famous for its desserts and homemade ice cream. We came twice to try different things, Their coffee and juices are good too. The best dessert for us was the Ekmek kataifi with ice cream (we added the Kaimaki, I feel it goes best, otherwise parfait vanilla). The chocolate dessert (sokolatina) and the bueno where great too. Must go.

What more should I write about this refined cafè in the center of Artemonas that has not been written in the dozens of reviews before? Just visit not too late in the night, otherwise most of the desserts will be over and you will have little choice. Wait patiently for a table under the Bouganville and then... Bon appetit!
